About the role

Chemical Plant Operator Vacancies at Sasol Sasol is recruiting two Chemical Plant Operators (Shifts) to join its Energy Marketing & Sales division in Secunda, Mpumalanga. This permanent opportunity is ideal for qualified Chemical Plant Operators with experience operating process equipment safely and efficiently in a production environment. Successful candidates will be responsible for operating plant equipment, monitoring production processes, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring production targets are achieved while complying with Sasol's SHERQ and Process Safety Management requirements. Key Responsibilities As a Chemical Plant Operator, your duties will include: * Operate and monitor chemical plant equipment and production systems. * Perform routine inspections on plant and safety equipment. * Conduct Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) observations. * Complete effective shift handovers and maintain accurate shift logs. * Carry out electrical isolation procedures where required. * Perform gas testing for vessel entry and hot work permits. * Mix and safely handle process chemicals. * Participate in plant start-up and shutdown activities. * Apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Process Safety Management (PSM) standards. * Ensure compliance with permit-to-work procedures. * Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and risk assessments. * Monitor plant performance and report operational deviations. * Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure the plant remains clean. * Support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) initiatives. * Assist with technical projects and continuous improvement programmes. * Coach and support fellow employees through knowledge sharing and on-the-job training. Minimum Requirements Applicants must have: * Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science. * NQF Level 2 Occupational Trade Qualification (Chemical) or Chemical Plant Operator qualification. * Minimum of **3 years' relevant experience** operating a chemical processing plant.
