Key Responsibilities As a Junior Developer, you will: Software Development * Develop high-quality software using Python and SQL. * Build and maintain automation scripts and backend utilities. * Write efficient SQL queries for data validation and analysis. * Develop production-ready applications following coding standards. * Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and business analysts. * Participate in code reviews and pair programming. * Maintain technical documentation and development guidelines. * Improve existing applications through optimisation and refactoring. Testing & Quality Assurance * Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. * Perform software testing and defect resolution. * Support secure coding and code quality practices. DevOps & CI/CD * Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. * Assist with automated deployments and release processes. * Monitor deployment pipelines and troubleshoot build failures. * Help maintain cloud-based development environments. Minimum Requirements Applicants should have: * Matric with Mathematics and English. * Relevant tertiary qualification in: * Computer Science * Information Systems * Data Science * Software Engineering * Or a related field. * Up to one year of software development experience (including internships, university projects, or practical experience).
