About the role

The company is seeking a qualified Safety Officer to support its Health & Safety division and ensure compliance with mining regulations and safety standards. 🎯 Key Responsibilities Identify and report health & safety risks and recommend corrective actions Conduct workplace inspections and internal audits Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis Compile accident/incident reports and maintain records Monitor contractor compliance with SHERQ standards Assist with risk assessments, procedures, and safety standards Participate in safety walkabouts and inspections ⚠️ Additional Information Must be medically fit in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act Employment Equity principles will apply Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted Background checks (criminal & credit) may be conducted Certified documents required (SAPS certification) 🗓️Closing Date 28 April 2026

Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- COMSOC Certificate 1 & 2
- Trade Certificate or Blasting Certificate
- Valid Code B (08) driver’s license
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in mining
- At least 2 years’ experience as an Artisan or Miner
- Advantageous:
- Safety Diploma
- Mine Overseer Certificate
- Integrated Management Systems knowledge
- OHS auditing experience
